Advice by Dr. Hope

Dear Dr. Hope,
I had been with my boyfriend for almost four years when my parents forced us to break up (I was only 15 at the time they found out). We have been apart for little over a year now but we have been talking a lot again and I love it.
The problem is that while we were apart he happened to find another girl and they became very close and he got her pregnant.
He has told her he doesn´t want to stay with her after the baby comes. He wants to pay child support and have joint custody. I am willing to be with him, despite the child, because I love him so much. The problem is that my parents would rather see me dead than with him.
Please help me. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Carol,

Maybe, he doesn't love you as much as you love him because after you broke up he got envolved with an other girl. I understand you, but you should keep apart until the baby is born and let him follow the baby during its first months. During that time, maybe, you will meet someone special with whom you will fall truly in love.
Don't forget, that even if you get together again, he will have to share his love and care with you, with his child and, maybe, the chid's mother.

Good luck in your decision,

Dr. Hope

Dear Carol Smith,

I understand all the worries this problem caused on you because it's a delicate situation wich deserves very care.

You have to talk with your boyfriend and see if you really want to be together besides all the adversities, because it's very serious to stay with a person who already has a son, and understand that is a huge responsability, to raise a son who isn't yours. After that comes the most difficult part: the talk with your parents.

Your boyfriend and you have to show all the reasons why you should be together and tell them you're in love and no one should try to separate you. You also have to explain the situation of his son and all the hard work you will do to give the basics need to the child. You have to convince them you will only be happy together and nobody can change that.

However, there is the possibility that your parents don't accept your love and the sacrificies you are capable to do. In this case, you will have to decide if you want to be loyal to your parents or to your boyfriend. This choice only depends on you and I can do nothing to help you here, it's your decision, I know it's hard but this is the only way.

I hope my advice will help you and I'm sure you will take the best decision for your happiness.

Dear Carol Smith,

I am writing you this letter to try to help you to solve your problem. What I can advice you to do is to forget your old boyfriend and follow with your future, because he is going to have a child and if you are you willing to help him in it you will only spoil your future.
Moreover create a child is a very complicated situation. With your age, you don’t know all good things that exist in the world. I know that what you are experiencing is not easy, but believe me, if you commit this mistake, you can lose your family forever, and the family is the best thing you can have.
You are still very young and new loves won’t miss!
This is my opinion but you have to think well about what you really want.

I hope you follow my advice because you have a bright future ahead ... But be well...

Advice by Dr. Hope

Dear Doctor Hope,
I'm 14 yaers old and I have had a boyfriend.
It seems like everyone my age (and younger!) is progressing with their love life, and I haven't even had my first kiss!

I think I have a lot to offer, and I don't know why things have ended up this way. I'm afraid I'm going to get so left behind that no one will want me.

I like a few guys, but they hardly know I exist. It's especially hard for me because I am very shy.
I'm really lonely and I'm getting desperate!
Am I destined to be dateless forever?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you.

Mary Jones

Dear Mary Jones,

You are a child, relax take it easy. You are very uneasy. You have many time, let the tings happen with simplicity, don't think on that, every day. Live a day each time...

You mustn't afraid that happen some thing about boys. And if you are shy, forget that it, when you look at boy that you like so much, you can imagine that he is more shy than you are. You will feel better, and the shyness will finish once and for all!!!

You can believe, that when the right day cannes, you will think that it finish, and won't be forever.
There are many teenagers like you...If you haven't even had your first kiss,...take it easy! You have time! Life is a child...There is time for all!

But, you don't need to "search" for boys, the certain boy will talk with you...
